Unstoppable

I wish I could stop time. Or just put it on a loop.

Tomorrow my daughter will be seven. I have no idea where the time has gone or how she has gotten so big.

I probably only have a few more years of being able to pick her up and carry her to her bed.
I probably only have a few more years after that until she stops spontaneously hugging me for no real reason.
I probably only have a few more years after that until she doesn't want to be seen in public with me.
And then only a few more years after that and her bedroom will be empty.

Where is my rewind button?

Awww!! You sound so sad!! I don't think she'll ever stop hugging you!!!

I wish I had more perspective to tell you something wise...

Honey, you're such a great father & I'm so proud of you!

You kids never stopped hugging, and you never stopped wanting to go places with us (there was only a short while you were horrified to be seen with me in public for a short time when you were in Jr. High)

Watching our children grow up is a bittersweet thing. On the other hand, it is so fullfilling to watch them grow, experience life, and blossom into such wonderful adults!

my 2 just turned 7 and 10 and the same thought goes thru my mind all the time. But I've never been able to put my thoughts so nicely.
